Welcome to Palmas del Mar!
A WHOLE NEW WAY OF LIFE IN A TROPICAL PARADISE
Palmas Del Mar Resort In The Humacao Municipality.
Located on the southeast coast of Puerto Rico, about 45 minutes from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, Humacao is known for being the home of Palmas del Mar Resort, one of the largest master-planned resorts in the Caribbean.
The 3,000-acre property comprises a lavish resort and casino, two dozen neighborhoods with upscale residential communities, six miles of Caribbean Sea frontage with about three miles of continuous sand beaches, a gulf club with two 18-hole courses, a yatch club with a full-service marina, a 64-stable equestrian center, a tennis club and fitness center, 60 acres of rainforest and a beach club with swimming pool, 16 water slides, water play system, bar and restaurant. Palmas del Mar also has a K-12 school, bank and numerous restaurants and retail stores.
What is now Humacao belonged to the region of Jumaca, which was led by chief Jumacao (also known as Macao). Jumacao is believed to be the first Taíno chief to learn to read and write Spanish, as records show he wrote to Charles I, king of Spain at the time, to complain about the Puerto Rico governor. During the early 16th century, the region was populated by cattle ranchers. In 1722, the first official settlement was constituted in the area.
Besides the resort's beaches, Humacao has other popular beaches, such as Punta Santiago, Buena Vista, Punta Candelero and El Morrillo, as well as rivers and creeks. The El Yunque National Forest in Río Grande, Laguna Grande Bioluminescent Bay and Cabezas Nature Reserve in Fajardo, and islands of Culebra and Vieques are easily accessible from Palmas Del Mar.
With everything that Palmas del Mar has to offer, why would you ever need to go anywhere else?
